Clinical Receptionist

The Laura Fergusson Trust is a progressive not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of services for people who have experienced a brain injury, from residential care and intensive rehabilitation, to community based assessment and rehabilitation across the Canterbury region.

This role will be based in our main facility at 279 Illam Road, Burnside, Christchurch.

We are looking for an experienced, efficient and enthusiastic Receptionist who has the ability to effectively run front of house, creating a friendly, welcoming and well-organised reception for clients and staff and to facilitate referral flow and communication across the various teams. The role will include administrative duties and will also ensure that our practitioners have the resources they need to provide the best possible experience for our clients.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills;

  • The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with an ability to manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and be culturally responsive
  • At least 2 years experience in a medical reception or similar administrative position
  • Previous experience in the use of client management systems or access databases.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based software systems (eg, Word, Excel)
  • An understanding of ACC contracts and an understanding of medical terminology, medical and allied health professional organisations and relevant stakeholders.
